Alex Hoffman
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Alex is a compassionate and dedicated qualifying psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Prior to completing her master's degree in 2024, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western University in 2017. Alex has over five years of experience working in an autism research centre, where she developed a deep understanding of supporting individuals and families navigating complex challenges. She continues this work alongside practicing psychotherapy, and she is a certified member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
Alex specializes in working with individuals who are looking for support with navigating life transitions, managing stress, building self-esteem and self-regulation skills, and coping with symptoms of anxiety, low mood and depression.
In addition, Alex has extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals using a neurodivergent-affirming therapy approach. She supports clients with ADHD and Autism (Level 1) and also provides guidance to parents raising neurodivergent children.
Alex's therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which emphasizes increasing psychological flexibility and aligning life with personal values. She also integrates strategies from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to tailor her sessions to each client's unique needs.
