Alex Hoffman
Registered Psychotherapist
Alex is a compassionate and dedicated psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Prior to completing her master's degree in 2024, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Western University in 2017. Alex is also a certified member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
Alex works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and life transitions, supporting clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves or their direction in life. She has particular experience working with anxiety-related concerns such as excessive worry, rumination, perfectionism, emotional dysregulation, and difficulty coping with uncertainty or change, helping clients build self-regulation skills and healthier ways of responding to distress.
Alex also supports individuals experiencing low mood or depression, including feelings of disconnection, low motivation, or emotional numbness. She works collaboratively with clients to explore underlying patterns, reconnect with values, and navigate life transitions such as identity shifts, career changes, and relationship changes with greater clarity and self-compassion.
In addition, Alex has extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals using a neurodivergent-affirming therapy approach. She has over five years of experience working in an autism research centre, where she developed a deep understanding of supporting individuals and families navigating complex challenges. She supports clients with ADHD and Autism (Level 1) and also provides guidance to parents raising neurodivergent children.
Alex's therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which emphasizes increasing psychological flexibility and aligning life with personal values. She also integrates strategies from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to tailor her sessions to each client's unique needs.
