Chelsea Dickson
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Chelsea holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is a Qualifying Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She also earned an Honours Degree in Child and Youth Studies from Brock University and an Addiction Graduate Certificate from Laurier University.
Chelsea is passionate about supporting university students and young adults as they navigate the unique challenges that come with this stage of life. She has a special interest in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and body image issues. Chelsea understands the pressures of academic demands, social expectations, and transitions into independence, and she helps her clients build coping strategies, strengthen self-worth, and foster resilience.
In addition to her work with young adults, Chelsea also has extensive experience supporting children and adolescents.She has worked with youth struggling with social anxiety, peer relationship challenges, executive functioning difficulties, self-criticism, and coping with transitions or uncertainty. She has also facilitated teen anxiety and ADHD support groups, further deepening her knowledge of emotional regulation and self-doubt in younger populations.
With a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach, Chelsea creates a safe space where clients feel heard and supported. She tailors therapy to each individual, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. She is also certified in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1).
Chelsea is committed to creating an affirming, supportive environment where university students, young adults, and youth feel empowered to explore their emotions, overcome challenges, and grow into their fullest potential.
